Wasn't there a Flyer fan on here the other day saying that Philly wouldn't claim a goalchie off of waivers?

Pickard to Philly
Mcbackup to Carolina

as per tsn

That was brilliant. Instead of just trading McBackup, Sparks, or Pikard to get something, we lose both and get nothing. Worse we have utterly no safety net for injuries now. Just great.

Once we get one of our 2 injured goalies back, we'll give you Pickard back for a conditional 8th.

Sparks didn't excel in preseason from what i watched either.

I know it's only preseason, but if it continues could put more pressure on Andsersen to start a lot of games.

Which means McBackup is likely to destroy the Leafs in the ECF

I suspect it was McBackup they were more concerned with losing, it seems to me the decision was between him and Sparks for the back up role, Pickard was heading back to the AHL anyway.

Having said that he is still better than our current options so I will take that deal.

Well, assuming both Alex Lyon and Michael Neuvirth get healthy without the Flyers losing another goalie, that gives them 6 NHL/AHL goalies, so....yeah.

Chillax - Last year the Golden Knights proved that goaltending depth is way overrated.

exactly, one or both are likely ending up back on waivers sooner rather than later so we can re claim if necessary.
